Gather Calendars as Drawing Resources
Look for Calendars that are on Sale or Free. Many organizations and stores give them away throughout the year. When the New Year approaches students may also bring in used calendars as well. Create an organized file for the pictures. Instruct students on how they may use the resource to help in drawing. Create easy categories such as Animals, Sports, Flowers, Patriotic Symbols, People, Faces, and many more. Keep the file in an area that students may easily access.
This works for project ideas as well as Fast Finishers who may choose a picture to draw from while others are still working.
